June 21st, we went to sign our year lease and get our keys. We each had our cars full of smaller items to unload as well. Let the move in process begin!
On the Friday the 22nd after work, we each took another load in our cars, and started to set up the new spot. We quickly realized that we had a lot less space in this new apartment, and we'd have to start making adjustments fast. After a long evening of unpacking, organizing, and eating Papa Johns, we headed back to our old place to call it a night.
Saturday the 23rd was our official 'moving day'. Charlie decided to go golfing at 7AM (typical male) while I got up and organized, packed, and cleaned for three hours. When he got back from golfing, we picked up the U-Haul and were ready to start moving our entire apartment. My dad and Lisa were there to help, and although it took some organizing and geometry skills (thanks to Charlie), we got everything packed up in our cars and in the U-Haul pretty quickly. *A HUGE 'thank you' to my dad and Lisa for all of their help. We couldn't have done it without them!*

'How the heck are we gonna fit all this stuff?!'
Me...working hard ;)
After stuffing our faces with Mexican food, we had to take the U-Haul back and get started on setting our new place up. As I was doing some unpacking in the kitchen, I heard Charlie getting upset as he was putting the bed together. Turns out, we had forgotten some metal poles in the U-Haul. We caught them on the phone FIVE minutes before closing time. They set the poles out front, and we went to pick them up immediately.
Although we took about a 20-minute break to test out the new hot tub, we worked on the apartment until about 10 or 11PM. It was such a long, exhausting day!
Sunday the 24th was spent cleaning out our old apartment, so we could do a walk-through with our landlord. We cleaned the majority of the day, taking a few breaks to get lunch and go shopping for the new spot. My dad came to meet us for the walk-through. We definitely wanted him there for his his landlord and handyman knowledge.
I don't even want to recall the events during the walk-through (due to our not so nice landlord). All I know is that I am SO happy to be out of that place. For the next few days, my dad and Charlie will be putting some work into it, but come Saturday, we turn in our keys! Yay! Hopefully will be getting the majority of our deposit back ASAP.
All are welcome and invited to come check out our new beach pad this summer ;)
